Mops meet the first Thursday of the month October-May.
MOPS is a group for mothers of preschoolers. We have monthly meetings that provide support, fun and friendship to moms of little ones birth to kindergarten. We meet the first Thursday of every month from October to May at Flint Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 W. Bristol Rd.
Our meetings are packed with crafts, discussions, relevant speakers, and a great lunch. Caring and capable people teach and care for your children while you enjoy the meetings. We divide everyone into groups that sit together for the whole year and plan activities for another day of the month.
MOPS is an international ministry that believes in working with local Christian churches to maximize ministry opportunities to God’s Kingdom. For more information about MOPS International: www.mops.org
What is MOPPETS?
MOPPETS is the wonderful program set up for your children during our meeting time. It is run by caring adults who want you and your child to have a great experience at MOPS. Between music, story time, snacks, crafts, and play time, your children whill enjoy their two and a half hours of MOPS as much as you do.
A light snack is provided for the children. We will have a snack sign-up list for you to participate in.
The ages of children in the MOPPETS program is birth through kindergarten. We divide the children as closely as we can according to age as follows:
- 1 year olds
- 2 year olds
- 3 year olds
- 4, 5 and 6 year olds (6 year olds only if they are in kindergarten)
The classroom your child is placed in at the beginning of the MOPS year is the room they will stay in for the entire year. Even if you child attends Central and is promoted to a new Sunday School room, they will stay in the room they have started in for MOPS. This helps with our organization of children and volunteers. The only exception to this rule will be if your child is an infant and they begin to walk during the MOPS year. If this is the case, they will be moved up to the 1-year old room for the safety of the other infants.
For security purposes, we will give you a pager or a name tag so we know everyone is properly identified.
Please make sure:
- all bottles, diapers, pacifiers, bags, etc. are labeled. Also, please pre-mix any bottles that your child may need.
- your child is not sick when they come to MOPS.
- if your child eats solid foods, that they eat before they come to MOPS.
Please be considerate of these simple requests. They are important for the health of our kids and the smoothness of our
If you child has a problem during our meeting, a MOPPETS worker wil come to you or beep your pager. This allows for less confusion in the children's rooms and hopefully a few less shed tears from your child and others. Thank you for your consideration in this.
We are looking forward to a great year with our MOPPETS!
