Children’s Ministries exist at Central Church of the Nazarene to assist parents in fulfilling their God-given responsibilities in training their children. The services provided are designed to assist parents in meeting the demands placed on them in a contemporary life and reinforce Christian principles essential in making the home complete. We provide many special events to give children activities they and their friends may enjoy as they learn about Christ. Our children ministries are viewed as a supplement to the child's family by providing a warm, secure Christian environment outside the home. The purpose of our children’s ministry is to guide and nurture each child as they grow individually learning about Jesus Christ.
Sunday Morning Children’s Worship
Kid Central combines high-energy activities with Bible-based teaching for boys and girls in grades 1 through 4. A combination of games and fun-filled songs capture kids' attention while also showing them that living for God is the best thing out there. Grades 1 through 4 meet for worship, lessons, games, and prayer at 11:00 AM on Sunday mornings. Enjoy worshiping God with both adoration and fun learning.

Vacation Bible School
God's love changes everything – or at least it can - provided the gospel is presented to someone in a relevant, authentic manner. All people, including children, have a deep-seated need for love and acceptance – to belong to something greater than what can be experienced in isolation. God, by sending His one and only Son into our world, fully demonstrated His willingness to invite us to live and participate in His eternal community of love. But how do we share the exciting invitation of God to those who live in the world? Well, one way is to create a fun, relevant atmosphere that draws kids into our churches. Vacation Bible School is the perfect summertime program that can connect your church to kids.
Upwards Basketball
Upward provides first class, organized and detailed sports programming in basketball at Central Church. Unique aspects of Upward include an evaluation system that promotes equal and competitive teams as well as a substitution system which allows for equal playing time for all participants. Through Upward, children are exposed to quality coaching and sport development. Upward emphasizes character and integrity instead of a “win at all costs” mentality associated with today’s sports world. Upward Basketball is an evangelistic sports ministry with a mission that promotes outreach, salvation, character and self-esteem in every child. Upward is a fun, reliable, passionate and encouraging sports experience for boys and girls, in first through sixth grade and runs from December – March.

Children in Grades 1 - 4 have the opportunity to visit Central's Computer Lab as part of their Sunday School class periodically throughout the year. Children's knowledge of the scriptures is enhanced through the use of biblically based software that make learning fun through stories, quizzes, and interactive games. The lab is fortunate to have software programs featuring many of the Bible's key figures and also other programs that teach children about Biblical virtues. With the integration of computers in almost every aspect of our lives, these make for a very enjoyable learning experience for your children.
