Central church you have some amazing individuals in Panama this week.
Everywhere you look there are people working and laughing and going above and beyond to help and witness to those in Espave. There is a tangible fluidity to this group. As a need arises on the job sites, people step up, others fill in gaps, and with our local friends helping us we become an even stronger movement in this neighborhood.
Today we dug the last trench for the foundation of the kitchen for the CDC at Espave. We also mixed the cement and poured most of the foundation. We think we're doing a pretty good job because Luis called some of us "champions" (although he's the real champion). The Child Development Center already feeds over 40 children meals throughout the day. They currently do all of their cooking in the open over a pit. With this kitchen and the planned classrooms, the CDC at Espave Church of the Nazarene will be able to feed more children and show them the love of Christ.
And we get to be a part of it.
We organized some afternoon activities for the children of the CDC. We had face painting, games, and made tie-dye shirts. The kids loved it and couldn't get enough.
We also hosted a Women's Ministry event. We prayed with the women, shared in some crafts, made a customized photo frame, and took a portrait of the women and their children and printed it on site. To see the look on the women's faces as they put their photos in their frames was indescribable.
After another very productive day we headed to the beach. We got there a little later than expected and missed the sunset but this team took the opportunity to go into the sand, laugh and take pictures together and just enjoy the beauty of the scenery and our experience overwhelm us. We topped the night off with an excellent dinner at a restaurant near our hotel.
We can't thank you enough for all of your prayers for this trip. We are so blessed to be a part of what God is doing here this week!
