Today was a day filled with many God-sightings. We had the privilege of serving at an all-girls orphanage. The girls, ranging from age 5 to 17, played games, made crafts and received gifts. We brought many things to give the girls, including crisis care kits and clothes, but what we were most excited to give them were Bibles.
Our Vacation Bible School lesson was built around the Bible. We don't know what life experiences the girls have had in the past, and we don't know what lays before them, but we do know that God has something to say to each of them individually through His Word. No matter their hurt, no matter their need, God's Word has exactly what they need.
Our team interacted beautifully with with the girls. Everyone was laughing, playing, running around and sharing God-filled moments together. It was awesome.
The afternoon was spent back at the Samaria Church where construction efforts continued. Our team worked on installing a handrail on the steep steps in the community. We also carried buckets of wet cement down the stairs to the church as they began the new wall around the sanctuary. It was another hot, tough, but great day.
Our week is quickly coming to an end. Tomorrow we will do a bit more construction, facilitate VBS for the community and end the evening with a Celebration Service with the Samaria Church family. Our days have been blessed and we are thankful for the opportunity to partner with our Nazarene brothers and sisters in Panama.
