Welcome to Central Church of the Nazarene!

Welcome and thank you for visiting Central Church of the Nazarene.

For over 85 years, Central Church of the Nazarene has had a vibrant presence in the community of Flint, Michigan.  As a church in the Wesleyan tradition, Central has always believed in the message of holiness—that we are to be set apart to God and for God.  Our desire, individually and collectively, is that we would become more and more like Jesus every day.  We believe this can happen as we equip the people of God through preaching, teaching, worship, and service.  As the Holy Spirit works in us and through us, we are transformed into a people who love God and love our neighbor.

In our life together, we highlight four connection points: (1) Connecting to God, (2) Connecting to Each Other, (3) Connecting to Our Community, (4) Connecting to Our World.  We believe these four connection points are vital to the life of our collective body, as well as for each individual.

We hope and pray that through the life and ministries of Central Church of the Nazarene you will experience God’s radical transformation in your life.

Getting Connected

Join us for a Pastors' Chat Luncheon. These are held six times a year. Great way to meet other guests, the pastoral staff, and their families. Hear what Central is all about!

Membership classes are offered several times a year.  Please see the Sunday bulletin and announcements for scheduled class dates.

Connect to others in a Sunday School class or LifeGroup.  This is a major point of connection for Centralites.

What Can I Expect?

As a church of the Nazarene, our Sunday morning worship services (at 9:30 and 11am and 6pm) provide preaching and teaching, traditional and contemporary music, and a welcoming community.

Because we are a community from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences, typical attire ranges from traditional “Sunday Best” to casual, every day wear.  We want you to feel comfortable as you are.

Many Sunday school classes are available at 9:30 and 11:00am.  For more info, go to Education and Children's Sunday School.

Our Coffee Shop, (Central Cafe), is always open serving hot coffee and espresso-based drinks.

For families with young children, we have secure check-in and check-out procedures as well as volunteers who can help you with this simple process. A fully-trained staff is also available in the nursery.
